Decks Interface

Trading Card Games (TCGs) are not just about the thrill of competition or the joy of collecting; they are also about the strategic depth that comes with building the perfect deck. In this article, we delve into the interface of cards and decks in Cross The Ages TCG.

Access to Deck interface
When you launch the game and are ready to dive into the world of cards, you’ll typically find a “cards” button situated on the lower bar of the home interface. Clicking this will reveal a treasure trove of information, which we aim to simplify and explain.

Upon entering the card menu, you’re greeted with a comprehensive list of all available cards. Those in your possession are displayed in full color, while the ones you’re yet to acquire are grayed out. This visual distinction makes it easy to track your collection.

Power and Trait
Each card is a repository of information, but let’s focus on two critical attributes :

  1. The power value :
    • The power value is prominently displayed at the bottom of the card, and it’s a key indicator of a card’s strength in battle.
  2. The trait :
    • The trait, found in the top right-hand corner, denotes the card’s affiliation and plays a significant role in deck synergy.

Filters
Navigating through your collection is made effortless with sorting and filtering options at the bottom of the screen. These tools are invaluable when constructing decks, allowing you to swiftly locate the cards that align with your strategic vision.

Heptagram
For those new to the game’s mechanics, the heptagram is an essential concept to grasp. This wheel illustrates the interconnections between the game’s elements. It’s a fundamental aspect of gameplay, and beginners are encouraged to experience the introductory adventure mode games to get up to speed.

Deck creation
Moving to the top of the screen, the deck table is where your strategic planning comes to fruition. It’s split into two sections: one for Adventure mode (PvE) and another for Arena mode (PvP), each with its own set of deck-building rules.

In both modes, the game offers a training deck to get you started. However, if you’re feeling creative, you can embark on building a new deck by selecting an empty slot. Deck creation is a nuanced process, varying significantly between modes.

For Arena mode, the cornerstone of your deck is the leader, which is a card with a unique ability or capacity that often dictates the flow of the game. The goal is to assemble a deck that not only supports your leader but also allows you to accrue points effectively. Keep in mind the deck requirements: 30 cards and a maximum power point cap of 15,000.

In contrast, Adventure mode decks are all about maximizing power. The constraints here are different, with a deck limit of 15 cards and no cap on the total power points.

For those who prefer to skip the deck-building process, there’s a convenient option. By selecting the “Auto” feature, the game will automatically generate a deck for you, utilizing the cards you currently own.

And for the enthusiasts eager to delve deeper into deck creation, stay tuned. A comprehensive guide is on the horizon, promising to equip you with the knowledge to craft winning decks.

Conclusion
In conclusion, understanding the card and deck dynamics is crucial for any TCG player. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newcomer, mastering these elements is what leads to success on the playing field. Keep an eye out for further guides, and may your strategic planning lead you to victory!

In the fascinating world of “Cross The Ages,” understanding the details and nuances of card reading is crucial for players to excel. This article delves into the types of cards, their attributes, and the various levels of evolution and rarity that make this game an enthralling experience.

Types of Cards: Combat and Terrain
“Cross The Ages” features two primary types of cards:

  1. Combat cards and
  2. Terrain cards.

While both types contain the same information, their purposes differ significantly. Combat cards are designed for capturing opposing cards, whereas terrain cards, also known as field cards, aim to boost the power of your cards.

Card Information and Rarity
Each card in “Cross The Ages” is packed with information, making it easy to understand once you know what to look for. One of the key aspects is the rarity of the cards. There are eight different rarities, with the rarest cards possessing the highest power.

The differents rarities and they associated range of power are :

Rarity Power
Common 450 – 625
Uncommon 490 – 665
Rare 525 – 695
Special Rare 525 – 745
Ultra-Rare 555 – 710
Mythic 580 – 740
Exclusive 450 – 715
Unique 675 – 720

Card Status
In the top left-hand corner of the card, players can identify the card’s status, which falls into one of three categories: Eternal, Flex, or Static.

Eternal cards are unique as they are NFTs registered on the blockchain,
Flex cards have the potential to be transformed into Eternals,
Static cards do not have this capability.

Despite these differences, all cards can be played and used in the same manner.

Card Traits
The top right corner of the card reveals its trait. For season 1 Arkhante cards, these traits are known as Arkhomes, and for season 2 Mantris cards, they are referred to as techstyles.

Here is a list of all the traits names with their associated colors :

Color Arkhante traits Mantris traits
Nature Meditech
Earth Robotics
Darkness Chaos
Water Mantrix
Fire Cyber
Light Order
Air Genetics

Power and Awakening Level
At the bottom of the card, two crucial elements are displayed: the card’s power and its awakening level. The power indicates the card’s strength, which is pivotal in capturing opposing cards. The awakening level is associated with crafting, a feature that will be explored in future articles.

What you need to know now is there are three types of evolution in “Cross The Ages”:

  1. Reinforcement: This increases the card’s power, turning it into a “standard card.”
  2. Awakening: This transforms the card into a superior version, an “alternative card.” During awakening, cards randomly obtain one of four levels: C, B, A, or S, with S being the most powerful.
  3. Fusion (Merge): This involves fusing alternative cards to create a single, more powerful “combo card.”

The number of gems on a card indicates its progression between reinforcement and awakening. One gem signifies a non-awakened card, while more gems indicate an alternative card, ranging from grade C to S.

Design and Animation
The design or artwork of the card forms the entire background and can be animated if the card is an Eternal. There are various levels of animation, activated using CTA tokens. Additionally, players may encounter the Foil version of a card, akin to the shiny version in Pokémon, which is rarer but does not confer any gameplay advantage.

Conclusion
Understanding the complexities of card reading in “Cross The Ages” is essential for players to strategize effectively. From the types of cards to their evolution and rarity, each element plays a crucial role in the gameplay. As players delve deeper into this world, they’ll appreciate the intricate details that make “Cross The Ages” a captivating and dynamic game.

In the captivating world of Cross The Ages’ Trading Card Game (TCG), the Heptagram stands as a pivotal element in gameplay, offering a deep understanding of the intricate relationships between different colors and regions. This guide aims to demystify the Heptagram’s complexities, making it an accessible and vital tool for players to gain an edge in the game.

The Heptagram’s Foundation

At its core, the Heptagram comprises seven colors, each representing a distinct region in the Artellium world. These colors are known as “Arkhome” on the Arkhante side and “Techstyle” on the Mantris side. The relationships between these colors—encompassing strengths, weaknesses, and affinities—are central to the game’s strategy.

Color Dynamics: Strengths and Weaknesses

The Heptagram reveals key dynamics, such as the dominance of the blue color over red and turquoise, while also showing its weakness against violet and green. For instance, a color in a position of strength, like blue over red, gains a bonus of 150 power points. Conversely, when in a weaker position, such as blue against purple, it incurs a 150-point penalty.

Power Points and Card Superiority

To outperform another card, it’s essential to have a power advantage of at least 5 points, beyond the inherent strengths and weaknesses. For example, to capture a red card with 600 power points, a blue card needs only 455 power points, leveraging its 150-point advantage plus an additional 5 points.

Affinities and Trinities: Strategic Alliances

The concepts of affinities and trinities introduce a layer of strategic depth. Affinities, involving two different colors, provide a 100-point power boost to both cards. Trinities, a more complex association between three cards following each other on the game board and the Heptagram, also grant an extra 100 power points to each card. Blue, for instance, has affinity relationships with yellow and brown, and forms part of three distinct trinity patterns:

Brown, Violet, Blue

Violet, Blue, Red

Blue, Red, Yellow

Cross-Season Synergies

Intriguingly, affinities and trinities can extend beyond the boundaries of Arkhante and Mantris, mixing elements from subsequent seasons. This adds a layer of unpredictability and creative strategy, exemplified by combinations like the Robotics – Darkness – Water trinity.

Dominance without Advantage

In scenarios where there is no inherent advantage, such as the Blue and Yellow affinity, the dominant color must exceed the other by 5 nominal power points.

The Heptagram, with its interplay of colors and power dynamics, is a foundational element in Cross The Ages’ TCG. Understanding its intricacies is not just an intellectual exercise but a strategic necessity, opening doors to victorious gameplay in the enthralling world of Artellium.

Deckbuilding basics

Deckbuilding is an integral part of any Trading Card Game (TCG), and Cross The Ages offers a unique twist to this aspect. This article delves into the essentials of deckbuilding for both the Adventure and Arena modes in Cross The Ages, providing players with the foundational knowledge to construct effective decks.

Adventure Mode Deckbuilding

In Adventure mode, the structure of the deck is quite straightforward. Players compile a deck of 15 cards without any power limit. Central to this deck is the General, a card that dramatically influences gameplay. The General’s primary role is to enhance the capture chain – the sequence of card captures possible in a turn. Typically, the capture chain starts at one, meaning a played card can capture another, which can then capture another, and so on. However, the introduction of the General increases this chain to two, allowing for an additional capture. Another significant aspect of the General is its availability – it’s the only card guaranteed to be in the player’s hand, providing a consistent strategic element.

Arena Mode Deckbuilding

Transitioning to Arena mode, players encounter more complex rules. The deck size doubles to 30 cards, with a total power cap of 15,000 points. Similar to Adventure mode, a General is included, adhering to the same mechanics. However, Arena mode introduces the concept of Special Abilities, which are exclusive to the General. These abilities offer a range of strategic enhancements and require thoughtful consideration to align with one’s playing style and card collection.

Special Abilities in Arena Mode

  • Banner of command : As long as you control your Leader on the board, all the other battle cards you control of the same Trait are empowered by +45 power. Each battle card of the same Trait as your Leader has a deck cost reduction of -10.
  • Power Mirror : When played, your Leader copies the nominal power of the most powerful card you own on the board.
  • Power Stacking : At the start of your turn, as long as you keep your Leader in your hand, empower it accordingly if your card is a: Mythic/S = 20; Ultra rare/Special rare/A = 15; Rare/B = 10; Uncommon/Common/C = 5. The power of the Leader can not exceed 725.
  • Affinities reinforcement : Empower each card you control by +10 power for their first Affinity, and by +5 power for each additional Affinity. This is a passive effect and applies at the start of the duel.
  • Field influence : As long as you control your Leader on the board, empower your field cards by +40 power and weaken opponent’s field cards by -30 power.
  • Draw refill : You start the game with 3 draw counters. When played, your leader makes you both draw and increase your draw counter of the amount of cards he directly captured (does not apply to chain captures).
  • Shift advantages : When played, your Leader inverts the Traits basic advantages for 3 turns: +150 becomes -150 and vice-versa.

Types of Cards

Finally, understanding the card types is crucial for effective deckbuilding. There are two primary card types:

  • Combat Cards: These are the primary cards for capturing opponent’s cards and are the most prevalent in any deck.
  • Terrain Cards: Limited to two in Adventure mode and three in Arena mode, these cards offer a power boost to combat cards of the same element for three turns.

In conclusion, mastering deckbuilding in Cross The Ages requires understanding the unique rules and strategies of both Adventure and Arena modes. By carefully selecting the General, its special ability, and the right mix of combat and terrain cards, players can craft decks that reflect their playstyle and strategic preferences, setting the stage for exciting and dynamic gameplay.
